To the Teachers

PRESTO is a company established as a result of many years of research and monitoring different methods of teaching music in schools as well as private home practises.

We aim to employ musicians who love to pass their own knowledge to the others and consider teaching as desirable and rewarding job.

Teaching is a very specific profession in which you have to be able to observe and evaluate not only your pupil but most of all yourself. Your ability to detach yourself from your own emotions and recognise what your pupil might feel as well as conviction that you can overcome any obstacles is essential.

Basically what we are looking for is empathy and unconditional  faith in your pupils and your own potential.

Your educational background and diplomas are not as important as enthusiasm, positive attitude, reliability and generosity in offering extra help when needed.

You may find at first that you start 2-4 hours a week, but you should be able to build up your class within few months.

Professional training and resources including detailed lesson plans will be provided but it is your personality that should eventually attract more pupils and build your reputation.

Ideally you should have acquired either degree in Music in chosen instrument or at least Grade8 ABRSM or Associate level of musical education.

We welcome CTABRSM diplomas and for those who are interested in future engagement we highly recommend the course as it is focused on your own observation and personal development.

The rates of pay vary from £25 - £35 per hour according to your success in attracting more pupils to your class. Your job is on freelance basis and you are responsible for your tax returns and National Insurance contributions.

Full days work is 5 hours (6 max) and this means 10-15 students for piano and 20 for other instruments.

The detailed Agreements will be provided upon your enquiry supported by CV and cover letter.

As PRESTO is a newly established venture we expect commitment and welcome your feedback and involvement in expanding and improving quality of service. Hopefully together we can build a totally new approach to teaching music at schools and facilitate musical activities on a large scale.
